Ensuring Latinos Have a Voice in the Future of AI and the Economy.
Artificial intelligence will help shape the future of wealth, work, and economic opportunity in America. Latino communities must have a voice in how that future is built. LatinoProsperity works to ensure that Latinos are not left behind in the AI economy, but instead are represented in the policy, governance, and economic decisions that will define the next generation of opportunity.
WHAT WE DO
Advocacy that brings Latino voices into AI policymaking.
LatinoProsperity has been a leading voice in engaging California state leaders to ensure Latino perspectives are included in key AI policy conversations. We led the push for greater Latino representation in California’s AI working groups and engaged directly with the Governor’s Office to elevate the importance of equity, economic inclusion, and community voice in the state’s emerging AI agenda.
Leadership on AI governance and accountability.
LatinoProsperity co-founded and helped lead the EyesOnOpenAI campaign, a national coalition advocating for stronger nonprofit governance, transparency, and public accountability in OpenAI’s restructuring process. The campaign helped bring national attention to the importance of ensuring that powerful AI systems are governed in the public interest and that charitable and public-benefit commitments are protected.
Research and convenings focused on AI and Latino economic mobility.
Through our research, listening sessions, and convenings, we are exploring how AI may impact Latino workers, entrepreneurs, consumers, and communities. We examine both the risks, including job displacement, algorithmic bias, and digital exclusion, and the opportunities for Latinos to participate in and benefit from the AI economy.
Building a Latino AI Resilience Agenda.
LatinoProsperity is helping develop a broader conversation about what Latino communities need to thrive in an AI-driven economy. This includes workforce development, entrepreneurship, consumer protections, equitable access to technology, and stronger community participation in AI governance and deployment.
