Summary
Shared AI Futures: Preparing Nonprofit Leaders to Shape an Emerging AI Economy
Thursday, December 3, 2026 | 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. PT | Sobrato Center for Nonprofits, Redwood Shores
AI is already changing work, financial services, education, and public systems. Nonprofit and community leaders see these changes first, in the lives of the workers, families, small businesses, and working-class people they serve. Yet they are usually brought into technology debates after the big decisions have been made.
Shared AI Futures brings together 50 nonprofit and community leaders, with a focus on direct service organizations, for a day of learning and planning. Together we will share what we are seeing on the ground, learn where AI policy is headed, and identify the principles for a public declaration on why nonprofit leaders must have a seat at the table in AI policy. The goal is for nonprofit leaders to help write the rules for an AI economy that expands opportunity, ownership, and shared prosperity, not just react to them.
Hosted by LatinoProsperity, Mission Asset Fund, and Code for America, with support from the Sobrato Foundation. Attendance is free and by invitation, with space for about 50 participants.
